The Michael Okura Memorial Pre-game Fundraiser brought together students and alumni eating, socializing, and most importantly, acknowledging the remembrance of a beloved teacher that was lost. The event raised about $1200, bringing the total to approximately $40,000 raised for the Okura scoreboard. The scoreboard will cost $45,000 to build. Previously, it was reported that the scoreboard would cost $68,000, but the district has assumed some of the cost, bringing the amount to $45,000.
During the game itself, alumni made an appearance to cheer and revisit their high school once again.
