Hi, I’m Valeria Aguilar and I’m a junior, this year’s editor-in-chief and club president, flag football’s team captain and a forward for the girls soccer team. As a journalist, I plan to serve our community consistently. Once I finish school, I hope to become a lawyer and eventually a judge.

Yee shared that she likes to use Quizlet, an app that helps with memorizing and studying. Making flashcard sets helps her study for exams like the Advanced Placement (AP) tests. “Almost every single test I've ever had I use Quizlet and I just, like, I think making the cards honestly helps me more than, like, doing the flashcards on Quizlet,” Yee said.

Pew Research Center, a nonpartisan fact tank that informs the public about various concerns, found that more than 70% of teachers acknowledge that cell phone distraction is an issue in their classroom. Cell phones serve as a major distraction in today's classrooms and diminish the quality of a student’s ability to learn.

Senior Monica Flores plays flag football and basketball and picked the number 23 for both jerseys. She has played basketball as the center post whose main responsibility is rebounding, since freshman year. When Flores took her first jersey home, her brother commented that LeBron James and Michael Jordan wore the same number as her. She appreciated the connection and it solidified 23 as her permanent jersey number. Flores hopes to end her last high school basketball season well and offers advice for underclassmen to stay dedicated and passionate about their sport. “If you’re willing to put that in and give your all then enjoy it,” said Flores.

Students vote on ballots and receive “I Voted” stickers to make the voting experience more realistic. Hoang ordered 1,000 stickers in hopes that many would come out to vote. Ballots were later counted by Hoang’s 5th period government students.
