On Saturday, Nine Vicious released his extended play (EP) “B4EM”. Nine Vicious is an American rapper signed to Young Thug’s YSL Records, considered a part of the underground due to previous albums “Tumblr Music” and “For Nothing”. With multiple leaks surfacing before the launch, fans had little to no idea what songs would be on the EP.
Nine Vicious has been previously known to sample hit pop songs from the past, leaving his fans to expect songs with sampled beats. With 10 songs, Nine Vicious released an impactful EP that is certain to change his career.
The EP was produced by instagram users @roqstarforever, @prod.r8, @jwadeee, @1nosaint, @406ahmadx, @elliottlathamm, @ribbellathelineagecontinues and @prodbypatrick.
With the first song being “Raging Love”, produced by @406ahmadx, the EP has a staggering start with a peaceful beat that makes its mark. Throughout the song, Nine Vicious shouts his label YSL records out. The chorus is slightly catchy without many unique features. However, the end of the song has a perfectly inserted transition into the next song; “Riri”, a sample of Rihanna’s hit song “work” with Drake.
Before the album release, a leak was released where Nine Vicious samples “Sex With Me” from Rihanna. The song remains a leak and was unable to be released with the EP for unknown reasons. The leak can be found under Spotify user Fostijs, titled “Amazing”. Despite that leak not being released, “Riri” is the best song on the EP due to the beat
Nine Vicious is known to have a versatile feminine and masculine personality, inserting both his personalities into his music throughout multiple songs. At one point, he mentions having sex with women to represent his masculinity while at other times his lyrics such as “I’m a bad b*tch too, lil b*tch, we both go skirts” (Riri) showcases his femininity, representing his unique artistic features.
Up next, “More Painting”, the most choatic song on the EP. Nine Vicious attempts a rage-like style intro that does not mix well with his voice. Though rage is a recurring theme throughout the underground, Nine Vicious does not fit well within this sound. However, at the 2:03 mark, the song crosses over through a transition into what feels like a different song. Despite the transition, the second half of the song isn’t good enough to rebuttal the beginning due to it being average without much meaningful intention.
A couple songs ahead, “Listen Up Jews” the second best song on the EP. Similar to “More Painting”, this song serves as a double track. The song begins with the lyrics “Take my shirt off and then the b*tch suck me up” which can be seen similar to artists Playboi Carti’s “I take my shirt off and all the h*es stop breathing” on his song “Stop Breathing” released on “Whole Lotta Red”.
In the second half of the song, Nine Vicious starts to relate his lyrics to the title, such as when he says “My b*tch is a Jew” or “I’m finna turn into a Jew”. Though Nine Vicious makes this reference to Jewish ancestry and religion, the song has no actual meaningful message.
He begins his next song, “F*ck Ogs” with “if you’re scared get the f*ck out” which can be seen as a reference to when artist Ken Carson first said “If you’re scared get the f*ck out the pit” at a concert. Later on, he repeats the exact thing Ken Carson said, making another reference to him. Representing the influence that other artists have on his music. However, the beginning of the song isn’t very good due to its chaotic intro but the second half is much better with a better beat and lyrics.
With another meaningful song, “24Hrs”. Unlike the others, this song has a stronger and more emotional message. With the beat repeating the adlib “Nothing will ever be the same” as a sample from Con Funk Shun, an American R&B and funk band, “Never Be The Same”. The song follows emotional turmoil and breakups from Nine Vicious’s life.
The Last song, “An*l” begins with Nine Vicious referring to Sid Vicious and the Sex Pistols, a United Kingdom punk rock band. The song is also a double track, making it the perfect way to represent and end the album due to multiple double track songs. However, the song is average.
Though Nine Vicious is a popular rapper in the underground scene who appears to be unique, he continues to pay homage to multiple artists as seen throughout this album, which makes him appear as someone who needs influence from other artists to be creative. However, he does this in such a way that makes him interesting and easy to listen to. Overall, the album was an amazing way to start Nine Vicious’ music career throughout 2026.
