The 2025 World Series: History in the making
The Toronto Blue Jays vs. the Los Angeles Dodgers has been a historic ride so far, and the series isn’t over yet, heading into Game 6 in Toronto. The Dodgers are down 3-2 against the Blue Jays. This specific world series matchup was one of the more unexpected outcomes, with heavy hitting teams like the Yankees and the Mariners coming from the AL (American League), although the Blue Jays were in first place within their division many people including former athletes and sports personalities never even considered the Blue Jays for the world series such as David Ortiz, Alex Rodriguez and Derek Jeter.
Throughout the series up to this point, the Dodgers and Blue Jays have both faced each other in this series to create records, some of those being mentioned. Rookie Trey Yesavage struck out 12 batters, which is the most strikeouts by a rookie in the World Series.
Another historic stat was made by Shoehi Ohtani, who tied the all time record for most times on base in a single game, previously held by Stan Hack in 1942 and being the first person to do so in a World Series game with nine total times reaching base. The Dodgers and Blue Jays combined for 18 innings of baseball in a World Series game tied for most innings in a World Series also set by the Dodgers back in 2018. Memorable baseball unfolds before our eyes, meanwhile the series hasn’t come to a close yet, not to mention Ohtani’s Game 4 against the Brewers in the National League Championship Series (NLCS). Where he recorded 10 strikeouts and batted 3/3 all for homeruns being the first person ever to do so.

“I feel like they so great, but they also let you down really badly, pretty sad right now, actually I’m hopeful but it’s gonna be rough trying to win both away games, but hopeful,” said Ahn.

With Game 6 coming today at 5:00 pm, and with this World Series breaking records, regardless of the teams, fans of either side should appreciate the great baseball being played before our eyes.
