Seniors are roaring in excitement as Prom approaches faster everyday. This year, the Class of 2018 announced the theme “Operation 0017: The Golden Night” at the Spring Sports Rally on Feb 24. Prom will be held in Downtown Los Angeles at the Alexandria Ballroom on April 22 at 7 p.m.

“The officers and I were looking at different venues, and when we saw the Alexandria Ballroom, we wanted to go with a more elegant look. The venue has gold and white and we all instantly thought of James Bond. We thought the theme was fancy and fit perfectly with the venue,” Class of 2018 President Christine Nguyen said.

Tickets will be sold on March 27 starting at $90 with ASB and $95 without ASB. Prom Court nominations took place on March 23. The Princesses are Samantha Solis, Megan Tran, Natalie Romero, Danyelle Gutierrez, and Amy Campos. The Princes are David Nguyen, Quintus Alton, Daniel Toscano, Gabriel Jaime, and Jonathan Saillant.

This year, many of the candidates running got creative when promoting themselves for court. Natalie Romero and Daniel Toscano created a video on Twitter promoting themselves on social media to encourage seniors to vote for them. The video contains Daniel Toscano rapping and Natalie singing. This video has over 1,000 retweets and over 2,000 likes. Students who attend other schools were impressed by the creativity Romero and Toscano showed. Some said, “If I went to your school you would have my vote,” or “Such a cute video. Good luck guys.” For the other candidates who ran for court, they constantly promoted themselves on social media.

As Prom approaches, seniors are excited to see what the Class of 2018 has in store, and congratulations to all of the Bulldogs on Prom court!
