December’s spirit week welcomed winter and seasonal attire with the following themes:
- Monday’s “Blizzard Out” when students wore blue and white
- Tuesday’s “Ugly Sweater Day” when students wore Christmas sweaters
- Wednesday’s “Channel Your flannel” when students wore flannels
- Thursday’s “The Grinch Stole My Backpack” when students brought anything but a backpack
- Friday’s “Polar Express” day when students wore pajamas
These spirit days fit into the winter aesthetic – the blue and white reflect the cold seasonal colors and the ugly Christmas sweaters set the mood for a festive winter break. In addition to the Christmas themed colors, pajama day is the day to be warm and comfortable in the cold weather. Students are encouraged to participate by getting participation points from some teachers such as Spanish teacher Cecilia Lopez and art teacher Cathi Julien or spirit points from ASB. Spirit weeks helped students destress through participating and seeing everyone’s creativity shine through.
