The choral department held its 9th annual Coffee House event last Friday between the O-building and the Bulldog Cafe from 6 to 9 p.m. Attendees of all ages paid $5 to experience Coffee House.

Various sizes and color couches were laid in the back with a string of lights to focus on the performers. The choral department transformed the outside space into a cafe where audience members bought and enjoyed pastries, coffee, hot chocolate, lattes, and mochas along with the music. Choir performed original songs and covers accompanied by the guitar, bass, ukulele, or piano, all executed by students.

Freshman Ella Sumi sang “Can’t Stop Falling in Love” by Elvis Presley and shared her advice with future performers.

“Do not be afraid to experiment with music because trying something different isn’t bad foresay, don’t try to base the song on just how you hear it, do it how you feel like you want to perform the song,” said Sumi.

Audiences enjoyed a peaceful night with the community as music filled the campus’s air.
