Senior varsity football player Christian Northey continues to work hard to make a name for himself. If you ever went to a football game, you would definitely recognize #29. The third year varsity player started the fun as a kid at the age of 13; he was already forcing fumbles and getting interceptions. Northey has been training hard since the very start to get to where he is now. As league season just started and the Bulldogs just took home the Kings of Cameron trophy, they are now poised to compete against Walnut and improve their league record to 2-1. Christian’s main focus this season is to lead his team to a CIF championship

“I’ve haven’t had the experience yet to play in a CIF Championship game, but I know the team has all the pieces to make it possible this year,” Northey said.
As skillful as Northey may be, he always makes sure to train and practice every day like the Super Bowl was the next. High school football has been a blast for the young stud, but the next step in the process to the professional level is college and Northey has no plans of stopping now. Since Northey obviously has all of the potential in the world, college is a viable option for the skillful linebacker.
“Playing college ball has always been a dream of mine. I’m a huge USC fan, so that would be for sure my dream college,” Northey said.
The sport of football takes a lot of commitment and effort; weightlifting and staying in shape during the offseason is hard to constantly do. Motivation is key to Northey in order to progress through the off season.
“Even when I’m not on the field, I’m thinking of ways to better my game. I like to go to the gym and just zone everything out while I listen to music and exercise,” Northey said.
Northey enjoys the atmosphere during Friday Night Lights, between the brotherly bonds he has with his teammates and the hype of it all. Relationships with your teammates is an important thing to have. He shares how well him and the rest of the team get along.
“When you’re in the hype of it all its the best, especially between me and one of my closest teammates Q (Quintus Alton, #8). We always find a way to get the guys pumped and motivated to go out and perform,” Northey said.
