Monica Gutierrez received the award for Classified Staff of the Year of 2018.

When asked about how she felt, she said, “Amazing. I feel very honored to receive Staff of the Year.”

Gutierrez is well-known on the WCHS staff. She has been working at the WCHS Media Center for over a decade and two years prior to that, she was a substitute for the district. Every day, she works her best to keep the media center organized.

“Besides books, we always make sure everybody in the office is taken care of. Also, we like helping out the teachers and students to make sure they get the resources they need for school,” Gutierrez said.

She decided to work here because of her experience as a substitute for this district. Gutierrez chose the job position because that she loves helping with kids and working with the staff.

Our Staff of the Year has met many new people among the campus and continues to spread positivity and create a friendly environment among the school.

“Ms. Gutierrez and I worked together for many years. She is a wonderful person and an excellent employee. She works faithfully and is dedicated to getting books for all the kids,” textbook and media center technician Fran Karmann said.
