WCHS will have an upcoming event that will take place in the cafeteria on Monday, May 21 from 3-5 p.m.. The San Gabriel Valley Chapter of the National Latino Peace Officers Association will be sponsoring the Public Safety Expo.
The Public Safety Expo is for students and members of our community who may take interest in law enforcement. It is aiming to inspire anybody who wants to be in the criminal justice career.
“I would love to go. I am interested in the in the law enforcement career and hope to be an officer one day,” sophomore Justin Solis said.
Anyone who attends can meet with people from the law enforcement to learn about the careers. There will be a plentiful amount of stations such as the California Highway Patrol, Drug Enforcement Agency, Department of Corrections, West Covina Police Department, and many more.
“The Public Safety Expo will be a great opportunity for the youth and the community. It’s like a one-stop-shop to learn about the law enforcement community,” probation officer Martha Aguirre said.
The expo will have no charging fee and anyone from the community is welcome to attend.
