Being a freshman on Varsity can be very surprising to people. Sophomore Lauren Bustillos has been on the girls Varsity basketball team since she was a freshman, along with Nikki Thompson.
Basketball is her favorite sport that she has played all of her life. Making the Varsity basketball team as a freshman was an accomplishment for her. She always has the motivation to play whenever she is in the game.
“Work hard and be confident in your game,” Bustillos said.
Her average points are outstanding considering that she is still a sophomore playing on a Varsity team. She has had many good games with great stats.
“…15 points per game but, my highest is 31,” Bustillos said.
On her downtime, Bustillos likes to do many things such as shooting around, hanging out with her friends, and listening to music.
Bustillos always looks up to her sister, Andrea Bustillos, who is now an alumnus and a college student at Citrus College. She also played for the Varsity team at WCHS and had outstanding seasons.
“My sister, she’s really dedicated to the game even now,” Bustillos said.
