With the 2024 school year coming to an end, here are local and affordable summer activities. From water parks to hiking trails, let the warm summer days ignite your spirit of exploration. Most are less than an hour drive from West Covina, and opened to all age groups. Many of the activities can be done with friends, family, or spent alone for some personal time.
Every summer, Summitridge Park in Diamond Bar hosts free concerts on Wednesdays, 6:30-8:00 p.m in June-August. Performances are sung by local cover bands and artists. Along with the free show, when the performance ends the park has an inflatable projector and plays family friendly movies. The performances include classic rock, oldies, country top hits, and more. The first of these performances is set to take place on June 12 where multiple food trucks will be present. The event allows teen volunteers to help clean up around the park during the event, and offer guests help to bring their belongings from their car to the designated area.
