Holiday Recipes: Baked Mac and Cheese

Every Thanksgiving or once in a while, my mom makes her amazing mac and cheese. It is a little time consuming, as she makes it using ingredients that you don’t find in average mac and cheese. I hope your family can enjoy it as much as mine does!

  • 8 cups of shredded sharp cheese
  • 2 teaspoons of pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of kosher salt (sauce)
  • Quarter of a cup of kosher salt (water)
  • 2 teaspoons of garlic powder
  • Box of Cheez-Its
  • 6 cups of cheese for sauce
  • 2 cups for topping

How to Make it:

Step 1:

As you are doing this, you will want to already had boil your noodles in a salted water pot

Step 2:

Combine the ingredients half and half milk, flour and butter and plenty of cheese to your preference

Step 3:

Drain the water and add your noodles to the sauce. Once that is done, add whatever you want to serve the mac and cheese in and drizzle olive oil all over it.

Step 4:

Once your noodles are well marinated in the sauce, you could put your mac and cheese for about 40 minutes in the oven. When done you can brown the crust using the cheez-its and cheese to put it in the broiler for 10 seconds.
