As spring slowly approaches, WCHS boys golf is ready to take on the season. They have practiced almost every day after school and preseason matches have been going well.
“We are practicing a lot at Pacific Palms and we even had some good rounds at the South Hills Country Club,” senior Michael Duran said.
The team has set many goals together this season as well as individually. They have a very positive outlook on how this year is going to go and hope to fulfill their dreams.
“I expect to go to CIF with my team this season because we look pretty decent. We have never made CIF before so it would be great if we did. I also hope to make CIF in individuals as well,” senior and varsity captain James De Luna said.
The golf team is very uplifting to one another and they all have a very welcoming charisma. Although golf can be considered an individual sport, the team makes sure to work together and exchange words of advice or positivity.
“We hype each other up and motivate one another before each of our matches start. We give each other handshakes and hopefully that gives all of us the confidence to go through the round,” De Luna said.
Preseason has already passed and so far the boys golf team has been very successful. The team will continue to strive to the top and work hard at all of their practices so they can only get better.
