Transitioning into a high school can be a tough time for an 8th grader. With so many different high schools to choose from it can be harder to make a decision on which one to go to, especially if they do not know what the campus is like in certain high schools.
That is why WCHS is having its annual 8th Grade Rally in the gym hosted by Link Crew along with ASB on February 2. The rally will give the students from schools such as Edgewood Middle School, Hollencrest Middle School, San Jose Charter Academy, and Walnut Grove Middle School an experience on how it feels to be in a rally.
Also, the purpose of the rally is to bring attention to the 8th graders on what it is like to be a Bulldog and what WCHS has to offer. There will be previews on clubs, athletics, and other activities that happen on campus. Electives that are not offered in other schools will be brought to their attention as well as the many different classes. Club’s will set up tables that will have overviews of what it is. Representatives of each club or sport will also be there to explain what goes on and may pass out flyers.
Even though the event is more informational to the students, it will still go through like a normal rally. Things like the exciting spirit games will take place with each school as a team instead as each class. They will be able to participate so that they can be more involved.
