Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp App Review

BY ISABEL PEREZ

The iconic Nintendo game Animal Crossing was a huge hit in the early 2000s when the DS was in full hype. Now that the handheld game console has retired from being in the spotlight to make room for the newly released Nintendo Switch, many people have been missing the games that came along with it.

Nintendo never disappoints and did everyone a favor by recently releasing Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp on mobile devices. Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp was an instant hit once again and has players addicted right from the start.

The new mobile game has a lot of similar features compared to the original Animal Crossing, such as the setup, but there is also a lot of characteristics missing. The pocket edition has a very nostalgic vibe to it and is laid out exactly the same as the DS version except for the fact you cannot walk from area to area but rather you have to use a “camper.”

Some of the most iconic features, such as digging for fossils and discovering new insects, aren’t included in the mobile version. Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is very simplistic compared to the original DS game but it isn’t surprising since the mobile version is supposed to be a little fun game to play sporadically.

Overall, I rate the game 4/5 stars because it brings back such a classic game and there is always room for addition of new features and improvements.
