Upon the anticipation of the second season of the Netflix’s original hit show, Stranger Things, that was released on October 27, and won awards such as the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance for its appeal to audiences of all ages with its 80s centric supernatural theme; recently introduced an eight-bit styled game for fans to earn exclusive previews for what’s to come.
Stranger Things: The Game allows players to collect VHS tapes in levels that can be challenging and require great use of problem solving skills, while having the ability to switch between the colorful characters from the show.
The show itself incorporates 80s references and is inspired by iconic movies such as E.T. so it comes to no surprise that the app is very similar to an old Nintendo game transformed to fit the modern era of technology. As a fan of the show, this game is like heaven. It can also feel that way to anyone who has great appreciation to classic nostalgia sentiments.
For Stranger Things to add this new game not only for their fans but for anyone who enjoys how older style games were developed creates another way to reach to more groups of people. Since they made something that focuses on the plot line of their story, it does not become confusing for those who have never even heard of it.
