Both of WCHS’ boys and girls soccer teams have a lot of games to look forward to this season. With planned out practices and talented players, their upcoming season is expected to be exciting to watch.
Boys soccer is attempting to make more improvements from last season. They intended to reach their goal of winning many of their games and making it to CIF. To help reach this goal, the team wants to make sure all health issues and grades are taken care of, and that there’s communication throughout the team.
“We expect these guys to play their hearts out every game. They’re gonna be expected to be playing with passion and representing WCHS the best possible way that they can, and hopefully a good game to come out and watch,” coach Anthony Hernandez said.
The girls soccer team has a goal to attempt to win every game, but if they lose, they are hopefully able to learn from their mistakes. The struggles that may occur within the team are communicating with each other and becoming slightly lazy during their play. This is why it is recommended for the players to attend practice and have full interest in the sport.
“If we lose, we lose, but I want them to lose trying. I obviously want them to win every game, but as long as they try, that’s what I want. In the end, they’re trying to learn to play better. They’re trying to learn that they can grow and can play on varsity next year and the year after,” coach Alexis Aguilar said.
