Sophomore Joseph Campos is making his way into skateboarding. Currently at age 15, he has been skating for about eight years and has the motivation and perseverance to go pro. With the backing of his current sponsors and family support, he believes he’ll be able to do it.
His current sponsors are Ace Trucks, Vans, Sk8mafia and Pawnshop Skate Shop. Pawnshop is a local skate shop located in Covina, CA.
He enjoys the fun he gets out of it, especially because he’s able to meet so many professionals. Skateboarding makes him feel free from anything and everything.
“It’s sick but the people you try to get involved in it just make the whole scene look bad,” Campos said.
The wrong people make skateboarding look like a crime or make others look bad for it. It’s something people are passionate about and it gets people out of situations some say they can’t get out of.
Pawnshop Skate Shop will be releasing a skate video featuring the kids they have sponsored and Joseph Campos is one of them. Be sure to look out for it.
“I hope skateboarding takes me a long way in the future because I wouldn’t want any other career than that. It’s my passion and what I hope to succeed in,” Campos said.
