Although the girls showed great effort, they were head-to-head with Chino throughout the game. West Covina’s #5 Lauren Sanchez, a freshman on the varsity team, came in and scored two great goals.
However, Chino was right by their side, scoring two goals as well. With the 90 minute buzzer going off with the score at a tie, they added overtime which was not good luck for the West Covina girls.
“We worked as a team throughout the entire game and really tried our best, especially for the seniors since it was their Senior Night,” Marissa Morales said.
During overtime, Chino scored two goals and ended the game 4-2.
“We played a good game and lost during overtime, which showed that we didn’t give up,” senior Lisette LaMarque said.
