Girls varsity water polo played their last game of the season against Los Altos Conquerors on Thursday, February 11. They struggled to come out with the win with the score of 13-4.
The girls started off the game strong, with their first goal made by senior Justine Garcia, just one minute into the game. They struggled to continue to get points onto the scoreboard with just one more goal scored by senior Clare Romero.
The Conquerors took advantage and scored five goals on the Bulldogs, leading at the end of the first. They started the second quarter by scoring two back to back goals against the Bulldogs.
Bulldogs had possession of the ball and attempted several times to put points on the scoreboard but were unable to. The Conquerors then attempted a shot that was blocked by the Bulldogs.
Romero scores her second goal of the game in the third quarter. Senior AJ Rodriguez then scores ending the game, 13-4.
“Going into the game, we knew our opponents were tough because they are league champs so I think the fact that we scored in the first minute of the game was good for us. I think that we actually played well together,” senior Amber Huerta said.
