There is a new school policy that most students are going to enjoy: the privilege to finally get to wear hats on campus. In past years, there was difficulty for administration to allow students to wear hats because of gangs affiliated with a certain color of hat or beanie to show what gang they were from. Since the school doesn’t seem to have that problem anymore, the administration decided they are going to take the previous policy away.
Last year the school started a new policy as well, students have to wear their IDs on a lanyard around their neck.
Dean Lisa Maggiore said, “We want to reward students for following our policies, so we have decided as long as they wear their ID around their neck, they could wear any hat they would like.”
Students are enthusiastic about the previous policy being revoked.
“I’m excited for this new policy and I’m glad administration has fixed it and changed their ways,” said Junior Alex Orellana.
Administration will announce this policy at the grade level assemblies Friday, Jan. 9.
