Betty Benitez is one of our school’s psychologists. Her job at West Covina High School consists of helping to identify students with learning difficulties and disabilities in order to do well in school.
She is familiar with WCHS and is very impressed with the culture and students of our school. She likes to see the way our students aspire to become better and is amazed at the determination our students have to reach their goals.
Benitez feels WCHS is a very encompassing school and feels good to be a part of the Bulldog family. She loves helping teens because she feels that adults expect a lot from them, holding them at a certain maturity level, and she believes some kids have trouble doing that.
“I love when I get to connect with students and help them emotionally, academically, and behaviorally,” said Benitez.
On her free time, Benitez is a very creative person. She enjoys scrapbooking and decorating cakes. She also likes reading , spending time with her children, bike riding, and playing the flute as well as the guitar. Overall, Benitez loves what she does for the school.
“Even though I have a stressful job I find it very rewarding,” stated Benitez.
