Senior Night is a night when family and friends come together to celebrate their senior athletes. It’s an important night for these girls in particular, this being their last home game of their high school volleyball careers.
“I’m excited for them to see me, to see me play, see me in my uniform…being that person I used to watch, all the other seniors do on this night, which is really, which is really fun,” senior Morgan Lawrence said.

Lawrence, along with seniors Michelle Casillas, Brooke Crawford, Linh Diep, Isabella Gonzales and Taylor Maranan went into this game ready to take on the challenge as they competed against Rowland High School last night.
“It’s our Senior Night and we have…the want, like the desire to win,” Maranan said.

Senior Night is kept as a reminder of all of the time and effort the girls put in throughout their high school sport careers. It shows underclassmen what dedication and a celebration of their accomplishments may look like in the next four years.
“Volleyball is more than just a sport… Seniors have taken it with them, like throughout their entire high school career. So they’ve taken the lessons from volleyball and applied it outside the court,” Maranan said.
Although they left the court with a loss of 3-2, the appreciation for the sport did not break their spirits. Support from teammates and family keeps the players motivated.
“We are able to create this bond that is kind of like a safe place for like one another. We push each other to do better. You know, after a bad play, you know, my teammates are always there behind my back,” Casillas said.
The night ended in family photos with the girls, marking the end of a chapter. These seniors and their commitment was commemorated for what they gave for themselves, for their families and for underclassmen.
