Some users have created Instagram accounts that stand out and leave a lasting impression on their followers. What some people consider an aesthetic Instagram account, is a visually cohesive collection of photos that reflect a specific theme, color pallet or mood. It enhances a profile’s overall appearance, making it more appealing to viewers. Common aesthetics include indie, vintage, pastel, and grudge. Here are two students who have created their own aesthetic Instagram feed.
Sophomore Adelia Li, describes her Instagram as a reflection of her personality and minimalistic vibe. Li was inspired by her cousin to start creating an aesthetic feed. She organizes her feed by mood and theme, such as calmer moods such as nature and places, or outings with her friends. Li advises others who want to elevate their Instagram account to be authentic to their style, emphasizing that individuality is key to creating an aesthetically pleasing feed.
“I feel like being you is the most important thing. Like if you have a certain style, people will remember you for that, and people will look forward to what you post,” Li said.
Senior Kristina Fuentes describes her Instagram as a curated depiction of her life and memories, inspired by friends, music, and nature. She maintains her feed’s aesthetic appeal by selecting photos of recent experiences.
“If it was a really awesome week, or I just did something really cool and fun, like I’ll look through pictures and whatever pops out to me, and I’ll make sure it’s all kind of on the same wavelength of vibes, and I’ll post,” Fuentes said.
Fuentes feels pressured to post perfect content on her main account but finds relief in her spam account, a private account for her close friends, where she can express her personality more freely. Her advice for creating an aesthetic Instagram feed is to post what one enjoys, as an Instagram account is personal and for self-expression.
“I love to post and share it because, like, social media is just what other people see of you, and if you could choose that like it’s awesome to choose and show that,” Fuentes said.
A well-designed feed not only attracts followers, but also helps establish a personal online identity. The importance of being oneself and maintaining a consistent style will make people enjoy and look forward to one’s next Instagram post.
