Senior Juan Vargas is big on wearing on-trend clothing and creating his own style without any fear of backlash. Vargas is not afraid to dress how he likes and takes pride in how he pieces together his outfits. He’s an avid customer in many high-end stores and likes to pick unique articles of clothing to differentiate himself.

Many young people today enjoy thrift shopping for clothes which gives them an amazing style they make their own, but Vargas is different in that sense. “I just think on the spot when I’m about to dress. I usually start with a shirt then go from there.” He likes spending a little more cash to elevate his style and really separate himself from other students and people, even when he’s not at school. “Sickö, Death To All, and 1017 Alyx 9SM are my favorite brands right now. Even having pieces from Raf Simmons, custom Chanel or Prada pieces, or VLONE are really important for me.” The music he listens to and many of the designers and icons he looks up to really affect his decision on what to purchase to create an outfit that no one else has. “I have to say Ian Connor and City Morgue really inspire my outfits and help me choose a piece.”

Vargas really enjoys having a somewhat tolerable dress code so he can wear what he likes and it really fuels his passion for fashion. “I want to go into a career with fashion and photography maybe mixed  in, I just like doing that kind of stuff.” And when asked what his style is he stated that he, “Doesn’t really put a label on it, I just wear what I like.” It’s interesting to know that a student enjoys how he dresses and it’s very promising to see what Vargas could create in the future.
