There is a lingering question that lies in the back of many individuals minds, one that pops up around this time of year and one that everyone has asked themselves in one way or another. This question usually goes along the lines of “why is Christmas important” or “what is Christmas really about” or something along the lines of those questions. While there is a true definition on to what Christmas is about, given that it is to celebrate the coming of Christ during a time in which all forms of negativity prevailed over the land, however there are many responses that can contently answer this question.
One of many response that sufficiently answer this question is to remind people of the good times that come and go in their lives, as they spend time with loved ones and family, even if there may be times in which things aren’t good as bad things just happen. Another is that to others it’s a time in which people get to spend time with the people they care for and get to forge new and wonderful memories with them. Other people may answer this question with the belief that Christmas is the time of year where you go around doing good in order to make the world a better place as if life were a fairy tale. These actions may vary as simple tipping a bit more for waiters (which you should always do) to helping out in soup kitchens or just simply offering help to strangers in need. Some less than swell answers include the material possession of gifts given to them from their more wealthier comrades, however the opposite is also true in which others give to others for no other purpose than just to give happiness to others. The true reason why we celebrate is to rejoice in the birth of Christ as I’ve previously mentioned, however that is mainly within a religious standpoint.
While these are all good answers and neither are right nor wrong, please allow me to give my own opinion as to why Christmas is important. During Christmas time we spread acts of kindness to others in order to remind ourselves of something that I believe is fading over time now. We do these things in order to bring back hope, to bring back something that was lost before a miracle took place in a time where no positivity existed. I believe that Christmas brings us hope for a better future that all of us can live in, hope for a world in which we all can just be happy. It is a time in which we just forget all about the pain and hurt in life, in our world of bloody evolution, and just go ahead and fall in love with life. We fall in love with life and we just live in this world, as we grow as people in order to fix our world, a world where the future generations have hope to hold onto when bad things happen.
Hopefully this article has helped you find an understanding on why Christmas is important. Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all others who celebrate something else, may you all enjoy your break, spread hope for a better future everyone can live in, fall in love with life, and let’s just live.
