LaVar Ball, better known as the Ball Dad, has only one son in the NBA. Many have beliefs that the other two won’t make it that far.
With the recent incident that occured in China with his middle son, LiAngelo Ball, there have been a few arguments on if he will be considered for the NBA draft. Since the incident, LaVar has pulled LiAngelo out of UCLA so he can go straight to the Lakers without any complications.
Before these incidents, LaVar had already pulled sophomore LaMelo out of Chino Hills High School to homeschool him and gain more time to focus on basketball. LaMelo had already given a verbal commitment to play for UCLA in the future. Will UCLA want him after the stunts his father has been pulling (taking his kids out of school, only focusing on basketball, and getting the boys agents)?
I personally believe the father is stupid for taking his kids out of school just to focus on something everyone knows they already excel on. He is a good father for making them a brand, but he seems selfish and only wants the fame of being a father of 3 NBA players.
Many parents and journalists have agreed that LaVar Ball isn’t thinking straight. With the Big Baller Brand blowing up, he has more than enough money to focus on getting his two other sons into the NBA. They have said that “LaVar’s actions are taking away from the great playing his son has been having,” said a news anchor from Sports Center
The oldest son, Lonzo Ball, has been very successful with the Lakers this season. According to stats by ESPN.com, he is averaging at 8.8 points per game, 7 assist per game, 6.9 rebounds per game and has a player efficiency rate of 10.50.
Could Lonzo Ball be the one and only Ball Brother to play and be successful in the NBA? Will the actions of LaVar cause his kids future career problems?
