West Covina’s Top Dogs: Senior Medallions

Senior Medallions are the grandest awards that are bestowed upon outstanding seniors that have excelled inside and outside of the classroom. The following 26 students had the honor of being the recipient of this prestigious award from the Class of 2017.

 

Eric Au

  • Current CSF President
  • 300+ hours of community service

Freshman Hayleigh "Hanjoon" Han showcases her sense of style called tsuyome gyaru (broad term to describe strong, extreme makeup) with yamanba makeup. There are many different substyles to gyaru, but she leans toward a substyle called manba gyaru. "There are so many substyles to the fashion culture of a gyaru," Han said.

Yee shared that she likes to use Quizlet, an app that helps with memorizing and studying. Making flashcard sets helps her study for exams like the Advanced Placement (AP) tests. “Almost every single test I've ever had I use Quizlet and I just, like, I think making the cards honestly helps me more than, like, doing the flashcards on Quizlet,” Yee said.

Senior Haley Isip style features experimentation by playing with pieces of different textures, colors, and styles. “I find it fun playing around with pieces of clothing that aren't usually worn,” Isip said.
