The newest movie in the Star Wars Franchise is “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”. Director Gareth Edwards has blown my expectations in a emotional filled movie of hope, tension, and fulfilment. This movie was extraordinary as it brought me to a time where I could watch a movie and fall away from reality.
Some of the movie’s key stars were Felicity Jones as Jyn Erso, Diego Luna as Cassian Andor, Alan Tudyk as K-2SO (the reprogrammed robot), Ben Medelsohn as Orson Krennic, Mads Mikkelsen as Galen Erso, James Earl Jones as the voice of Darth Vader, and the list goes on. This story is based off of the characters created by George Lucas in the Star Wars universe, where Rogue One takes place between Star Wars Episode III and Episode IV.
The movie as a whole has debuted just this past weekend and has earned $290.5 million worldwide and $155 million in North America alone. The film is also earning very good criticism from all around.
The movie opens up with the classic scenery of the outskirts of space. To my surprise, this Star Wars movie did not start off with an opening crawl of words to describe what has just happened and or will happen. Nevertheless, the movie still has its classic Star Wars feel to it as it still had many easter eggs for the passionate Star Wars fans to seek out and enjoy during the movie. As the story progresses, the audience learns the state of the Galaxy and what it has in store. The movie had amazing action scenes that will leave your blood chilling especially at the end. The plot of the silver screen had good dynamic character build up that leaves you feeling for the change in attitude of the character.
The film itself was very fast paced with lots of stimulus at first as it needed to get the storyline of the main character out of the way in the beginning. Overall, the graphics and quality of the film photography was undeniably beautiful and transcendent.
To end it off, “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” was very remarkable with its well thought out story line and its very thrilling action scenes that leaves you wanting more and more.
