Pizza, the most comforting go to food, but firewood toasted crust and unlimited toppings for only $8.49? Well, that’s Blaze Pizza for you. The home of fast-fire’d food just moved into West Covina and is now located near the mall.
Right when I walked into the place, I felt the amazing atmosphere and was greeted by excited workers. The entrance leads you right into the line and immediately the menu is displayed. Everything they have is displayed, but one of the best features is that you can create your own pizza. A simple pie is $5.55, a one topping pizza is $6.75 and a multi topping pizza is $8.75.
Once it’s your turn to order, there is an assembly line of workers that ask you exactly how you want your pizza. Unlike Pieology, they have a variety of sauces that you can use for your pizza. They also have three cheeses to choose from as you go down the line. I personally went with the classic mozzarella cheese just because it was my first time. The next option was to choose my meat, which they also had a nice variety ranging from pepperoni, applewood bacon, grilled chicken and salami. I decided to mix it up and add pepperoni and bacon. After the meat, you come to the end of the options and you are asked what vegetables and spices you want to finish of your creation. I decided to stay away from the veggies this time. It was a short wait time and after about five minutes, my pizza was out the oven and ready to eat.
Before I dove into the pizza, I tried a new drink for the first time called blood orange lemonade, which was very pleasing. I pulled my first slice out of the box and the melting cheese was dripping off the edge of the crust. I took my first bite it was “scrumdidilyumptious.” The thin bread gives you the opportunity to enjoy every single topping on your pizza and the crust is just completely mouth watering. All six slices are better than the last.
I am definitely a pizza person and Blaze Pizza was a restaurant that impressed me, food quality and customer service wise. The restaurant is in a very convenient location and the prices are good. I give Blaze Pizza 5 out of 5 stars. It’s located at 120 S. California Ave. West Covina Ca, 91790 and is open from 11 a.m. to 10 pm.
