The All Female group has made their debut in our rallies, and now, our school will have an all- female team on campus. It all started when Valerie Ramirez, a coach at The Lab Creative Arts Studio, came up with the idea that there should also be an all- female hip hop dance team.

She will also be the new director of this program, alongside Carrie Calkins , and Brittany Roblez, both also from The Lab Creative Arts Studio.
“We are planning to do an all-female next year and hope that girls will come to workshops,” captain Myra Sankitts said. There are workshops this week from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the quad and auditions will be on April 9 at 9 a.m.
About 57 girls showed up to the first workshops on Monday, April 4.
“I was so happy to see the amount of girls that came to workshops yesterday,” Sankitts said.

There is no set number of girls who will be accepted on the team yet.
“I think it is extremely exciting and I am grateful to be part of something new that has never been done before,” said Captain Alexis Alvarez said.
The team will compete in the same competitions as All- Male.
“I’m really pumped and ready to start to make memories with the team. Being captain will be challenging, but I’m ready for this amazing opportunity,” Sankitts said.
The team’s goal this year is to bring something new to WCHS, and introduce an exciting team that will hopefully continue for years to come.
