Dance Drill and All Male had an eventful past weekend. As they prepare for Nationals, they have been attending competitions on Saturdays and Sundays to get criticism from judges before their biggest competition.
They went to Sonora High School on Feb. 20, where large and small All Male both won first place. Dance Drill received second place for small military.

“It felt really amazing to know that we did pretty good competing against many teams and getting first place. Sonora was our first competition last year and we also got first place and since then, West Covina has been undefeated, so it feels good,” junior John Garcia said.
The following day, they attended Fountain Valley High School for Regionals. Once again, large and small All Male received first place. This time, the girls small military routine also got first place making it a successful day for the team.
“I felt that this competition was really good especially for small military because we got first place. Even though we might have made a couple of mistakes, we still got off the floor content with our performance,” sophomore Brianna Castro said.
