Urth Caffe has recently become a center of attraction for many looking for a place to grab a meal; however if we are being honest, the place wasn’t as good as people make it out to be. As we arrived to Urth located on Melrose Ave., we noticed that it was overcrowded and the place was not that big. There was no direction as to where we should order our food when we went inside the caffe. We had to wait a couple of minutes before a worker actually approached us and asked if we wanted a menu. Once we ordered it also took us a while for someone to help us get a table since it was so full. The
inside was overly crowded because of the amount of tables they tried to pack in. Aside from that, the tables were only big enough for two people so if you had a bigger group, they had to put tables together in order to accommodate their needs; however that resulted in chaos for other sitting customers.
After we ordered, the food arrived first before the drink. We had asked for special request on the sandwich which they ended up messing up. Because they messed up, we had to wait a while until they remade the sandwich in order to actually start eating.
All in all the food is kind of expensive for the portions they serve. People talk so highly of the restaurant therefore we entered expecting more than we got out of it. The food was not that great for the amount of money we paid; however the smoothie was worth the five dollars we paid. Perhaps the pastries and drinks are the reason many go but we did not purchase any pastries so we can’t speak for them.
