Many West Covina citizens attended trunk or treat in the spirit of celebrating Halloween. This is a free community event where citizens can enjoy treats, games, and to enjoy themselves with many other citizens. The event was open to all ages, from young to old. There were many attendees that enjoyed the experience and liked trick or treating in a safe environment.
This event took place in the East San Gabriel Valley Japanese Center (ESGVJC) West Covina, CA. A local place for all of West Covina residents.
There were many games that citizens themselves volunteered to make. There were table games next to some cars that young children were able to play with. Also, a stand provided beads where kids were able to make their own necklaces. The event also played a movie as the children were playing games and trick or treating.
The main attraction of trunk or treat were the decorated cars and their trunks. There was a parking lot filled with many cars, all unique and with a variety of themes.
Most cars in the designated parking lot were decorated and crafted by hand. Each car had a different theme with some of the owners even dressed to match the theme of their car aside the cars.
The young children could walk from car to car as they trick or treated and played games throughout the ESGVJC parking lot.
“I really like this car, it is very colorful” said Lorena Lopez a six year old who attended the event, regarding a Dia de los Muertos themed car.
