Very recently, music artist Jay-Z attended a news conference in Manhattan where he was joined by many other successful musicians. The announcement was that Jay-Z himself bought the music streaming service app ‘Tidal’ for 56 million dollars.
This app is mostly owned by music artists themselves, so they have complete control over how their work is consumed. Some of these artist, known to be Tidal owners along with Jay-Z are Rihanna, Kanye West, Madonna, Nicki Minaj, Alicia Keys, and Daft Punk.
Owning this app, you will have access to over 25 million tracks as well as many albums, music videos, and exclusive videos only accessible through the service.
This app is known to be similar to other apps such as Spotify, Beats Music, and Rdio Music. Tidal has become known to be on the expensive side compared to some apps mentioned before. It may be free on the application stores but as far as listening to the music on the app you will need to start a Tidal subscription. For a ‘Lossless High Fidelity Sound Quality 30 Day Free Trial’ you would need to pay an amount of $25.99 per month. To get ‘Standard Sound Quality 30 Day Free Trial’ the amount paid would be $12.99 per month.
At its highest quality quality Tidal is $15 to subscribe to full use. Tidal is like any other music streaming service with the exception of high quality music videos. So as far as music apps go, Tidal is a higher quality music service but it is along the same lines as any other just with higher prices.
