The majority of people don’t really have a good understanding on what Drumline is. Drumline is a part of band that goes and competes in their own tournaments. Just like band, they go to Championships and Nationals, but as a smaller group. They have their own judging circuits that rates them on how the pit sounds, and how the percussion moves together as one.
There are two main parts of the Drumline, pit and percussion. Pit includes the xylophones, bells, and even the piano. Percussion consists of the drums, snares, quads, and the cymbals.
They have to work as one to make the best music they can, just like any band would. West Covina Drumline has won many awards, including Nationals. They practice at night and sometimes even on the weekends.
