It’s  at the tip of your tongue; the name of that song stuck in your head. But you just can’t seem to remember the name of it?  Try Shazam.

Shazam, an app for Android and iOS, hears the music playing around you and instantly provides you with information on the song, artist, and the album. You can also see what your Facebook friends are listening to. It’s not just for music but also for TV. Maybe you’re watching a movie and want to know what it’s called. Shazam can tell you instantly, just press the S shaped circle and wait.

The pros of this app is that it gives lots of information. Once Shazam identifies a track, it reveals links for you to purchase the song on iTunes, watch the music video, and even recommends music you might like.

The cons about Shazam is that sometimes the app will freeze, and you need a decent wireless connection for it to work fast. However Shazam is a fun app to find a new artist or try new music.

Shazam is an easy to use tool and very helpful. Compared to similar apps like Sound Hound, with almost the same features, I prefer Shazam. For example, Sound Hound is a little slow and does not have all the features. I give the Shazam app an A because it is so useful, and has helped me a lot.
