Senior Phillip Nguyen is known for his talent in singing. He appeared in Bulldog Idol, where he was one of the top four finalists.

Nguyen has been singing for quite a while now.

“At the end of sophomore year is when I began singing,” he said.

There is no doubt that Nguyen enjoys what he does.

He stated, “Singing is my way of expressing myself.”

When it comes to singing Nguyen prefers to sing hip-hop and R&B.

“I feel like I can relate to these types of music.”

R&B singer Usher inspires Nguyen as noted by his performance of “U Remind Me” at Bulldog Idol.

“He is an amazing artist and a lyrical legend. I admire his work,” said Nguyen.

Nguyen will continue to pursue his passion of singing simply because it’s a hobby that he likes to share with others.

Nguyen said, “My friends encourage me to keep doing what I’m doing. And knowing that they are supportive of what I do just makes me want to keep pursuing what I love.”
