Imagine a hardworking student with a bubbly and bright personality: that individual has proved to be unique Bulldog Ryan Alvarez. She may be a sophomore, but with the little time she has been here at Bulldog Country, it is the positivity that trails behind her that makes her so special.

At the very beginning, Alvarez created a name for herself when she became a part of Top Ten during her freshman year. This is already a big accomplishment on her part, yet it seems as though her success don’t stop there as she continues to pile accomplishments in her name.

“Another accomplishment that has occured since was being apart of Sadie’s planning. After spending a month planning, it was great to see the dance come together,” Alvarez said.

Alvarez is also a huge contributor to Sophomore Class Council as she spends a majority of her hours creating and producing events to represent her class. It is through this that she manages the responsibility of academics while even being an officer for PAW Club.

“The key is to have strong motivations and having priorities… My schoolwork is my main priority, and I try my best to put that first,” Alvarez said.

She demonstrates the skills of being a fantastic Bulldog as her determination to constantly maintain motivation to stay on track whether it has to do with school activities or academically.

“My motivation is to stay on that bulldog grind and also my school spirit,” Alvarez said.

Like a majority of high school students, it can be a struggle balancing certain activities and sustaining excellent grades, yet this is not problem for Alvarez as she acknowledges the amount of work placed on her shoulders.

“If I’m feeling overwhelmed with homework, I’ll leave Class Council workshops early to focus on that, basically making time in my schedule,” Alvarez said.

Not only is Ryan Alvarez a bright student, but she is kind and this stems from the people she looks up to. In particular, Chemistry teacher Jin Zhou and her mother inspire her to strive for better everyday.

“My mom inspires me to try my hardest because she wants nothing but the best for me. Also, Ms. Zhou inspires me because of her endless support and kindness,” Alvarez said.

Nonetheless, Alvarez is just making her start here at WCHS and will continue to strive for the best as she finds her way to success with dreams such as going to UCLA after high school.

“One dream I have is to get accepted into my dream college- UCLA. Also, I have want to be able to travel and explore the world in the future,” Alvarez said.
